Hey @he_is_legend,
Thanks for posting in the Community
Could you share the Spotify version you're using? Does this happen only on your device or on others as well?
It'd be best if you could provide a screen recording of the experience so we can get a better understanding of the experience.
Keep us posted.
Cheers!
Yes me and all my friends (about 6 of us using iPhones and pixels) have this issue! Jam only seems to stay connected if we both keep Spotify actively open in our pockets. We will be at work using another app or just having our screens off listening to long podcasts together, and it always disconnects after about 15/30 min.
Hi Dian! I've been experiencing this same problem as the original poster as well. Happens every single time I host a jam with my friend, yet we're both on the most recent version of Spotify for our devices. I tried moving from my phone to my tablet to see if it would stop, but it didn't. Though there's not really anything to screen record, I can say that the jam will sporadically end on it's own without me nor my friend leaving the jam. Not very sure what's happening or if this is just a glitch. Hope this gets fixed soon! Thanks.
Hey there @n_sferatu,
Thanks for reaching out about this and welcome to the Community!
Just to confirm, are you still experiencing this? We'd also like to know if you're getting any error messages. If so, could you send us a screenshot of it? You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert image option in the post editor. Make sure not to send any private info.
Additionally, does this happen in a virtual or in an in-person Jam?
On another note, would you mind checking if the same happens if you use a different internet connection?
Keep us posted.
This happens to me as well. The issue has been persisting for the past week or so. It occurs with online jams when I host Spotify through my iPhone on iOS version 16.7. I am using version 8.9.10.

I'm having the same problem. There's no error message, but if I'm in a jam session it will just drop the other person all the time. For example, any time I fast forward, go to the "now playing" screen, end of any podcast episode, etc. It's really annoying having to send a new link over and over... hopefully this can get fixed.
Thanks for the info folks!
To test if it'll make any difference, we recommend giving Spotify on all devices a clean reinstall with the steps in this article as it often helps resolve issues with the app's performance.
After that, please try with a different Internet connection if that's possible to see if that changes anything.
Should the issue persist, it'd be very helpful if you could send us the exact make, model, OS-version of the devices affected, as well as the Spotify-versions you're running if you haven't provided these details already.
We'll be on the lookout 🙂
It’s still happening. Please correct. Please also enable a more robust search feature for recommended songs. Perhaps loop on the AI DJ
I have experienced this issue as well on jams over the internet. I have tried with mobile data or on wi-fi networks and it occurs on both. I have never noticed it on in-person jams which control a local speaker over a LAN, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen. I am using an iPhone X with Bose bluetooth headphones connected, iOS 16.7.4, Spotify version 8.9.19.571.
I have this issue as well. I have an iPhone XR and Windows 11 PC using Spotify version 8.9.42.597. It occurs on cell data and multiple highly stable WiFi/ethernet ecosystems. I believe the other members of the Jam are also on the same version, as iOS keeps things updated by default. It happens reliably every couple hours or so.
I miss how easy Listen Along was, which I understand to have been the Jam Beta, especially how people used to be able to Listen Along through Discord integration. Now, friends can listen to the song I'm listening to by clicking on my Discord, but they don't join my music.
Update: the other Jammer is using an Amazon Echo Dot. unclear how to find that Spotify version
Hey folks,
Apologies for the lack of updates on our end.
Can you try reproducing the issue again with all mobile devices plugged into their chargers so we can rule out any issues with the battery optimization?
To narrow this further down, you can also test with different accounts by friends/family members and see if the issue occurs only when a particular user is joining/hosting the Jam.
So far, we haven't been able to reproduce this on our end so any observations will come in handy in our investigation.
Keep us posted!
I think it may be caused when one of the users in the Jam use another app at the same time. For instance watching a reel on another app which has audio.
When this happen the audio on the Jam is temporarily disabled and it appears to exit said Jam.
It's still happening regardless of Reels.
Every 10/15 minutes its disconnecting today.
Thanks for the info @Kaliq.
Have you noticed this after a specific action (like, when another app is opened, after playing a set number of songs, when the queue ends, etc.) or does it occur sporadically?
Could you also check if this happens only when joining remotely or also when listening on the host's device?
Cheers 🤘
I am having the same issue as are many others, can you provide us with a screen recording where yall are starting a jam and able to change songs so we can ensure we are doing to right. Not sure why you have zero issues and we do. Thanks.
I'm having this issue as well. It works for some time, but when it stops working I have to close spotify (windows pc). When I then join a Jam again it works for roughly one song (the one that's currently playing), then a short while after the next song starts it disconnects again.
Hey there,
Thanks for posting in this thread!
@FJ18 - Just to check, have you tried any troubleshooting steps? This includes clearing cache, a clean reinstall, checking with another device or a different internet connection, etc.
If the issue still persists, it would be great if you could send us more details on what's happening from your end. For example - are you seeing any error messages, does playback stop only on your device or on all devices in the Jam, are you completely kicked out from the Jam, are you joining remotely, etc.
Also, there's currently an issue related to Jam which is being investigated by our tech folks. This issue only seems to happen when editing the play queue, however, which sounds slightly different to yours. Feel free to have a look here for more info though. You can also leave a comment there, should it be similar to what you're experiencing.
Cheers!
It happened within the first hours after installing the app. When I join a Jam on PC using the Link it usually works for some time. But when the disconnecting starts happening I can't stop it - I usually get kicked out from the Jam after the next song starts.
I'm using Spotify to listen to some music with friends while gaming on the same PC, so everything is remote.
Initially I was using the windows store app, then I uninstalled that and downloaded the version from your website. Both showed the problem, but the windows store version showed this problem more often than the version from your website.
I haven't tried joining the jam on my phone and then using my PC as the output device, maybe that works better.
Sidenote: I noticed the issue where the music stutters a bit when editing the play queue as well, but this didn't bother me all too much.
Hey there you, Yeah, you! 😁 Welcome - we're glad you joined the Spotify Community! While you here, let's have a fun game and get…
