Spotify app crashes when playing a specific podcast episode

My Question or Issue

Hi, I have a problem with playing a podcast episode. Everytime i try to play this episode, the spotify app crashes. I only hear 2-3 seconds of the podcast. Every other podcast and music works. Even older episodes from the same podcast. I have tried re-installing and clean re-installing the app, but it did not help. I have not found any solution to this and I have waited nearly a week to see if this issue would be fixed.

Hi,
For the last two days I was unable to play any podcasts, because the android app keeps crashing. Every time I try to play a podcast, I hear the first two seconds and then the app crashes. I have already re-installed the app and I have also tried the "Clean" re-install. Nothing helped. App still behaves the same and music works just fine.

Would you mind sending over the link to this episode so that we can take a look from our end? Also, are you able to replicate this behavior when playing the episode from another device?

If you could send a video where we can see exactly what's going on, it'd be helpful as well. You can attach it to your next response or upload it to another platform like YouTube or Google Drive and send a link to it. Make sure to hide any personal or sensitive information, and to give it the relevant permissions if you decide to upload it somewhere else.

I'm not the original poster, but I'm also having the problem where Spotify crashes for just one podcast and seems to work fine for any other podcast or music choice. I can replicate the issue on my Samsung S23+, S25+, and S21 FE 5G. I can't even make it to the podcast's home page.

Could you send us a link to the podcast in question? If the podcast page still crashes the app for you across all platforms and getting the link is not possible, let us know what the podcast name is and we'll see what we can do from there 🙂
