Hi Alex and Spotify,
I've got the same problem, Spotify has been working no problem for months, now that I've updated it keeps crashing.
I've checked for updated firmware for my car head unit and there isn't any,all at the latest version.
so to fix I've tried:
- clearing the cache and storage and Spotify starts gets the login no problem and then crashes before I can choose music.
- cleared cache and storage then uninstalled Spotify and re-downloaded from Android market. Get exactly the same problem.
So to me this looks like app update issue not an install head unit issue!!!
Please fix, or point us to previous releases so we can get a working copy.
I'm a paying subscriber so would hope to get a working app to use my subscription with.
I Don't have this issue with YouTube!!!!
Please fix, so family ate happy in the car.
Hey there @Mr_T2,
Thanks for posting in the Community.
We hope you don't mind us moving your post, as it fits better here in a new thread.
In this case, we'd like to gather some additional info. Just to confirm, does this happen if you open a different account there? You can ask for the account of a relative or a friend to open it in your car unit and check.
On another note, would you mind sending us the make/model of your car unit along with the firmware version of it?
Keep us in the loop!
Hi Spotify community,
Thanks for the response, yes happy for you guys to move it wherever you feel this problem fits best.
So, crash only occurs when my head unit connects to the Internet. If I stay offline Spotify doesn't appear to crash. Based on the past 2 days travel.
Make and model, and firmware are:
Isudar PX6

Android Sec Patch 5 May 2020.
I haven't tried a different account yet, let me know if this step still needs to occur to help with debugging the problem.
Hopefully the above helps.
When I went to start the car, head unit to get the build info Spotify crashed again when I hot spotted my phone to the head unit.
I clicked app info on the message and the
Spotify app version is 8.9.50.552.
Thanks again, hopefully we can get Spotify working once again on my Android car head unit.
Hey there @Mr_T2,
Thanks for your quick reply.
You mentioned it only happens when the head unit is connected to the internet. In this case, would you mind giving a different network a go to see if the same happens?
Also, it'd be useful if you could try with a different account since it'd help us understand if the issue is account-related.
Keep us posted.
Hello Have you already found a solution? I'm facing the same problem
I have the same problem and same head unit. Solution??
Tried uninstall the app. Did factory reset multiple times, but every time same error appears. Sometimes it works a day and sometimes maybe week or two..
