why can I only select my phone on my wear os Spotify app and
not my receiver or other devices to play back
on photo's of other wear os devices i see the device icon in the Spotify app
on my app I only see the volume control ?
are there different version of the Spotify app for wear os?

Would you mind sending over the OS version currently running on your watch?

Thanks for getting back to us with this info.
We'd recommend making sure that the device has no pending system updates.
If you use an app on your phone to control the watch, you could also try reinstalling it to see if you notice anything new.

latest update on my Nokia 9 Pureview.
no pending updates
reinstalled. Spotify on my Phone and on my watch
reinstalled Google wear OS on my Phone
reinstalled Mobvoi app (ticwatch app) on my Phone
total restart of my Phone and Watch
changed and restart my Network .
the strange thing is that when play my music from my phone and change to
my Sony receiver or other Google cast devices
I can change and select played song on my watch but cannot change with other devices on my watch.

yes I am on the same network and can select other devices on my phone.
my Ticwatch PRO 3 is not on the list but as you can see in this review video
Spotify is working fine (see 25:43)

Hello to all,
**bleep** the watch & selecting tracks to play (& even downloading them to the watch) was OK but when I selected the watch as playback device, all I got was this ominous, um, watchface (see attachment) with the current Bluetooth status, a Bluetooth device search option, and a switch regarding how to handle audio calls on the watch.
There aren't any system updates pending on the watch.

We suggest you start by reinstalling the Spotify app on your watch and phone and see how it looks.
If it doesn't do the trick, please also reinstall the watch's
