Trying to access the web player just says 429 too many requests

I use the webplayer at work because we can't download the desktop app. I've been using the web player for a few months now. All of a sudden today when I try to go to the webplayer via firefox a get a white screen with the words 429 too many requests. I've have already cleared all my cache and cookie.

Thanks for the replies. 

While we are aware of some issues like this on non-work networks, when it comes to work environments we cannot guarantee functionality, as that is strongly dependent on the local setup, restrictions, filters, etc. We have seen on some occasions that flushing DNS settings seems to help, so you're welcome to try that.

In the meantime, we will continue to monitor this and let you know when we have news on the topic. Be advised however that we cannot say for certain at the moment when or if this is going to get addressed for work networks.

I'm the developer of Lyricify, which is an app for displaying scrolling lyrics for Spotify on Windows and Android. It highly relies on Get Playback State, it send the request frequently with an interval around 5-10s. And these days, 429 Rate Limit is getting more and more severe, and it's a great impact on Lyricify user experience. Since it's a lyrics app, it have to send Get Playback State frequently in order to get up-to-date playback state.

I have already optimized the app by using GSTMC, and reduced the frequency (from 2s per request to 10s per request). But still, I'm getting too many request error.

Please add a higher rate-limit to my app, so we can make both Lyricify and Spotify better!

As lyrics in Spotify does not provide lyrics for most of the songs, third-party software is necessary. I’m a Lyricify user and has been experiencing more 429 errors than before while selecting songs and when the app fetches lyric information.
