Web player either skips songs entirely or stops at 9 seconds,

Web player either skips songs entirely or stops at 9 seconds,

As the title says, the web player either skips past songs before they even start, or stops at the 9 second mark.

Using latest version of Waterfox.

Tried signing out of everything, did not work.

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community!

 

We'd recommend you try and clear any entries with Spotify from your Host files. 

 

Follow the Solutions in these posts:

If that doesn't make a difference try clearing the browser cache or using a different browser.

 

Keep us posted on how you get on with this.

Cache has been cleared, no difference.
Hosts file had no spotify or fastly lines in it.
Tried switching to WFClassic, but that had even worse results, the player doesnt even load and just stays as a empty dark gray screen.

Could you try with another account to see if there are any changes? It's also a good idea to try with another browser, for example Chrome.

 

If the issue persists, could you share with us on what device you're experiencing this issue?

Tried making another account, no differences.
I want to stick with Waterfox, if I cant get Spotify to work on it, I will just go without Spotify. Especially not switching to Chrome, as I just recently removed it from my system for being too much of a resource hog.
Device is a Windows 7 desktop.

It looks like the browser you mentioned is not supported. You can also try with one of the listed ones in this article to check if there are any changes.

Having the same issue here. The Web Player skips through the first 5 songs of a playlist and then starts to play the sixth normally before stopping 9 seconds in. Currently using Edge Version 88.0.705.68

Have you already tried clearing your browser's cache and cookies? 

 

If this doesn't do the trick, could you try with a different browser to see if the issue persists?

Thank you for the suggestions but I've already tried to clear cache and cookies and saw the same result. I've also had this issue replicated on Firefox (Developer Edition), Chrome, and Edge.

It's a good idea to check if the issue occurs while using the app. We'd suggest you also try with another network to see if there are any changes.
