Why won't the app or web player load?

Why won't the app or web player load?

I've opened and reopened both the app and web player several times on my Chromebook, and it simply won't load. All it shows is a blank white screen. On rare occasions, it has text saying that there are too many requests. This has been going on for three days straight.

Hey @_peanutbuttercat,

Thanks for reaching out!

This might have been a temporary server hiccup due to the amount of traffic Spotify is getting, but in case the issue still persists for you, I'd recommend the following:

  • Close any excess Web Player tabs
  • Remove your browser's cache and cookies
  • Make sure you're not using any VPN services

In case the issue continues to be there for you after this, see if using a different browser would yield different results.
If it doesn't, try using a different internet connection as well e.g. a hotspot from a mobile device.

As for the app itself, you can try installing a fresh copy of it by following the steps for Android shown here.
Note that there might be some differences between the mobile and the Chromebook settings, so do let us know in case you encounter any difficulties.

Hope this helps! Keep us posted 🙂

We were having the same issue the last couple days. We could not open the Spotify Web Player, nor our Spotify Account Page for our subscription. I recently had a router firmware update that reset my DNS servers on the router to 'use ISP DNS servers'. I personally like using Cloudflare DNS servers. I changed my router WAN setting from using the ISP DNS servers (default setting) to using a custom/manual setting, and set the servers (back) to Cloudflare DNS servers. After I applied the setting, I reloaded the Spotify Web Player and the page immediately loaded.

Hope this helps others.

The problem is the DNS servers.  In my case the default DNS servers from Team Mobile home 5G don't resolve it correctly.  I changed it to 4.2.2.1 and 8.8.8.8 and immediately logged in.
