My Question or Issue

One podcast, Cut the Camera With the Sturniolo Triplets, is not playing. It allows my to click on an episode and hit the play button, but once I do, it seems like it’s playing but the podcast just does not go. I’ve tried playing other podcasts and they work successfully.

Try clearing the cache on your phone and within the Spotify app. After doing so, restart your phone. This should resolve the problem and allow playback to resume.

It still doesn’t work, I tried what you suggested.

Hey @Kylie_h8468

Thanks for getting back to us.

Could you let us know if this happens across devices or only on a specific one? We'd also like to know if this happens only with the podcast you mentioned or with other ones as well.

If it happens with only one podcast, could you send us its URI? We'll take a closer look.

If it happens with other podcasts as well, we suggest that you give a different internet connection a go to see if that makes the difference.

We'll be on the lookout for your reply.

No, I tried using other devices and it still happens. So far, only two podcasts have no played but other ones will. Here are the URI’s for those podcasts:

Hi @Kylie_h8468,

Thanks for the reply. Could you log in with a different account on your devices and try playing the podcasts then? You can use the account of someone you know or make one yourself.

Let us know how it goes.

Okay, I made a new account on a family members device and tried to play the podcasts, but they still wouldn’t work.

Thanks for giving it a shot @Kylie_h8468!

Just to confirm, does this happen at any specific points? For example, only when connected to a speaker or while using Bluetooth headphones.

Also, does the same thing happen on different internet connections as well? Are you able to play the podcast if you download it and make it available for offline listening?

Let us know how you get on.

No, this happened when I was trying to listen to it normally. And yes, I did try downloading it and playing offline and it still didn’t work.

Appreciate the cooperation @Kylie_h8468!

Since you mentioned that you tried with a different account on a family member's device, but the issue persisted, if it's the same internet connection that you've tried with so far, could you also give it a go with a different one? If you haven't already and you're using a Wifi router, please restart it to check if that changes anything.

On another note you can also share internet via hotspot from another phone to yours if that's possible for you.

It'd also be helpful if you could give it a go in the Web Player and if you're still unable to listen to the podcast episode(s) there, send us a video so we can have a look. You can either attach it to your next response with the Insert Video option in the post editor or upload it to Google Drive and share the link with us (make sure the video has the permissions for anyone to see it).

Thanks and we'll be on the lookout 🙂

I tried streaming both podcasts and downloading them through a web video player and it goes to the player briefly and immediately returns to Spotify. On a different account, different device, iPad, and everything restarted, it still does the same through a video player and through Spotify. Spotify tried to play them but they just hang.  You can see this in the screen recording.

Welcome to the thread, @Broooose!

Would you be able to test this with your account on a PC in the Web Player? Also, let us know if you tried with a different internet connection and if that changes anything.

Keep us updated.
