My Question or Issue:
I'm unable to stream podcasts to two of my "Spotify Connect" devices (Roberts Stream93i and Onkyo TX-8150). While playing a podcast, on the "Connect to a device" list, it states "Unavailable to control" on these two devices.
This doesn't happen while streaming music.
Any ideas?
Hi there @Ivo_pires,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community.
Can you perform a clean reinstall of the app? This will make sure there's no old cache files causing this.
On another note, do you get the same behavior if you're trying from a different device?
We'll keep an eye out for your reply.
Take care!
Thank you for your reply.
I performed a clean install as instructed and the problem persists.
I get the same behaviour on all devices (smartphone, tablet and PC) and OS (Android, Linux Mint 20.2 and Windows 10) I've tried in.
Best regards,
Ivo
Hi again @Ivo_pires,
Thank you for your reply and confirmation. Good troubleshooting so far!
Can you check the firewall and the anti-virus to be sure that Spotify isn't blocked?
If that doesn't do the trick and you're using any VPN, can you disable it?
If the issue persists it would be great if you can provide us a screen recording so that we can have a closer look directly from your end.
We'll be on the lookout for your reply.
Take care!
Now with the screenshots...
Hey there @Ivo_pires,
Thanks for getting back to us.
Currently, some speakers are unable to play podcasts via Spotify Connect, as they're generally categorized as mixed media (meaning they could contain both video and audio), which may be causing the issue.
It seems that other users would like to have this option as well and posted this idea. Despite its current status, you can still add your vote to it and if anything changes in the future, we'll make sure to keep everyone updated over there.
