Does Spotify Connect work with Student Premium Plan?

Hello, will Spotify Connect work with the Student Premium plan? It seems like when I switched over to the student plan, Spotify stopped working on my receiver.

Hi Katerina It looks like it is working now. I did a factory reset of the receiver. I guess there are difficulties when plans are switched. Thank you for your help

Hey there @pmagunia,

 

Thanks for posting and welcome to the Community!

 

With Spotify for Students you should be able to enjoy all the perks of having a Premium subscription, but at a discounted rate. This means that switching to Premium for Students from a regular Premium subscription shouldn't affect how Spotify Connect works for you.

 

If you're having troubles seeing your Sony receiver on Spotify Connect, we'd recommend first making sure of the following:

  • All devices are on the same WiFi network.
  • Your Spotify app is up-to-date
  • All devices’ software is up-to-date. If you don't know, check with your devices' manufacturers for how to update the version software. 

It might be a good idea after confirming the above to perform a quick reinstall of the Spotify app on the device that you're trying to find your receiver on by following the steps here. After that, you can follow again the steps provided by your receiver's manufacturer to use Spotify Connect.

Thank you for your suggestions.

 

i did a factory reset two days and it temporarily solved the problem until today.

 

i will try reinstalling Spotify app on my Ipad to see if that works tomorrow.
