Payment problem

Payment problem

  • I tried paying for my premium and it says payment failed but the money has been debited. What do I do?

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community!

 

If the payment was unsuccessful, you won't get charged. If you're charged and the payment hasn't gone through successfully, the amount should be automatically refunded to your account. This depends on how your bank operates. You can check your payment method and make sure that it is:

  • Registered in the same country to your Spotify account.
  • Not expired or canceled.
  • Enabled for foreign, secure online, and recurring purchases. Look for these settings in your bankโ€™s mobile app.
  • It has sufficient funds.

Sometimes there might be issues on server side, so it's a good idea to try and update your payment method via an incognito browser window after a few hours. 

 

If the payment still can't go through, contact your bank to make sure everything is OK with your card. 

 

In case you see the full amount for Premium debited from your card, but your account says it's still on free, you can contact our customer support team here, so they can check what has happened with that payment.
