My Question or Issue

i am trying to purchase the student plan and have gone through the entire process of verifying im a student and have gotten a confirmation email from spotify saying i am eligible. but when i go to purchase the plan it then tells me i am not eligible. why is this happening?

Hey @jack_maher03,

 

Thanks for reaching out! There are a few common reasons might explain the error you’re seeing.

 

First, keep in mind that the Premium Student plan is available for a maximum of four years total, so you may be over that limit. Also, if you’re already part of another plan or are a Premium Family or Premium Duo plan owner, that would prevent you from switching to Premium Student and you’d have to cancel your current subscription and wait for it to end first.

 

Timing can also be a factor—signing up during holiday periods or before your term officially begins can sometimes lead to verification issues. If you’re studying abroad, be sure your Spotify account’s country or region setting matches the country where you’re studying, and that you’re using a payment method issued in that country.

 

If none of these apply, it’s possible there’s an issue on SheerID’s side. In that case, you can reach out to them directly using their contact form.
