My Question or Issue

When I follow Hulu's and Spotify's instructions to locate the deactivation button for Hulu under "Your Services" in "Account Overview", it's not there. I'd very much like to deactivate my Hulu account.

Hey there @crossingcherry,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

You should be able to go to Your Services under Account Overview to deactivate Hulu, as mentioned in this Hulu article as well. Nonetheless, since you can't see this tab, would you mind sending us a screenshot of what you see on your account page?

Note: Be aware this is a public space, so please don't share any personal info in the screenshot you'll send us.

Meanwhile, you can try and open your account page on a different device/browser to see if you notice any difference.

Keep us in the loop!

Sure thing! I've attached the screenshot of my view of Your Services.

Hey there,

Thanks for sending over the screenshot @crossingcherry!

In this case, as the option doesn't appear on the account page, we suggest canceling your current Spotify subscription by following the steps here. Once your subscription is canceled and your Premium time expires, the account will revert to our free service and Hulu will be deactivated 🙂

Keep in mind that the account needs to revert to free for the changes to take effect. However, you keep the account and all playlists when it reverts to free & you can then resubscribe to Student Premium right away. You'll only need to re-download any playlists that you want available for offline listening once you're back on Premium.

Feel free to give us a shout if anything else pops up!

This seems to be the case for me and I imagine several other people with this issue so I would appreciate it if you updated your documentation to match this because I had to search through this forums to find this answer. Also I believe this is a non-intuitive and non-user friendly way around to this solution and would appreciate if there was a way to unlink without canceling or even a method to change the Hulu plan. All I want is an ad-free Hulu subscription but I’m forced to this work around.

Same issue here, pretty ridiculous tbh
