Can't add local song to a playlist with 1000+ songs

When trying to add a song from my local files spotify refuses to add it to a playlist I have with over 1.000+ songs and I have no idea how I can fix this

this is an issue on both the Android and the PC app

Thanks for posting in the Community!

We'd just like to mention that Spotify recently did some changes to the way local files work and with that said you may encounter some issues when syncing them between different devices.

When it comes to listening to the local files on your phone, keep in mind that you need to have the actual tracks stored on there as well. Once they're physically stored on your phone, you also need to head over to the app settings and switch on Show local audio files. For more info, you can head over to this support article.

So we can get a better understanding of the situation, it'd be very helpful if you could give us some more details such as:

• Do you see any error messages?
• Have you tried any troubleshooting steps so far and what exactly?
• Does this happen with multiple playlists or just with this specific one?
• Are you using an SD-card?

My Question or Issue

I can't add/remove local files and songs from the catalogue at the same time to the liked songs playlists. Adding lots of local files only is totally fine just as lots of catalogue songs, but mixing them together renders a "something went wrong" error message. In the example, only two songs, one from local files and another from the catalogue is enough to illustrate what happens. If selected individually they both can be added normally to the liked songs playlist.
