My Question or Issue

Is it possible to maintain separate queues between devices? I have a Premium Family account, which is maintained under my wife's account. We also have a Kids account for our daughter. Our Google Home and Google Nest Mini use my Spotify account for playing music. Whenever my daughter asks to play music on our Google Home, the next time I go to use Spotify on either my phone or computer, whatever I had queued up is replaced with whatever was queued up on the Google Home. It's pretty frustrating and unlike any other streaming service I've used.

Hey @x0epyon0x,

Thanks for searching for the answer you need here and welcome to the Community.

Please keep in mind that Spotify Kids account can't be connected to the Google Home app and used to control the speaker. It would seem that your account is connected instead and your daughter queues up her music there.

One possible workaround in this case would be for her to create a regular account, that can be added to your Family plan. You can then use the steps here to link that one instead to the Google Home app.

In the meantime you can also to add your support for this and this idea, that have requested an extension of the Connect features for Kids accounts. We'll inform on any developments there, as soon as there are any.

Hope you find this useful. Keep us posted if you have any questions.

Thanks for the reply,**bleep**, that's not quite what I'm looking for. Essentially, I want to be able to stream from my account simultaneously on a Google Home and my phone and maintain 2 separate queues. I thought this was possible with a Family Premium account, but I suppose not. Our daughter is still quite young, so we'll be keeping her on a Kids account.

Hi there @x0epyon0x

Thanks for getting back in touch.

Keep in mind that every account is personal, so you can't use it on more than one device at the same time. Also, every account has its own queue and there can't be more than one.

You mentioned that your account is the one which is connected to the speakers, so when your daughter listens to music, she's using your account instead of hers.

If you'd like to have the possibility to stream directly from your daughter's account, we suggest that you leave your vote on the ideas @Mihail sent previously.

If you have any questions, just let us know 🙂
