After a restore, I get the "3 devices" message, and all my songs are wiped

I recently backed up my iPod touch, erased all content and apps, and restored it from the backup. When I opened Spotify to listen to some music, I got the infamous message about having music on more than 3 devices and that all offline content would be removed. This is the second time this has happened following the same steps. All other content on my iPod touch is working fine, and for some reason, my Reminders app is working again.

I only listen to music from Spotify on my iPod. What are the devices Spotify is counting? My laptop that I backed up my iPod to and iCloud? This is really weird and incredibly frustrating.

I'm using an iPod Touch 5 and iOS 9.3.5.

I have the latest version of the Spotify app, and I'm premium, naturally.

Hi,

This should be the solution to your current issue:

  1. Log in to your account page on our website and click Offline devices in the menu on the left.
If there are three devices listed as offline enabled, you need to disable one to enable another.
  2. Click REMOVE to disable offline playing on an individual device, or click REMOVE ALL DEVICES.
  3. To enable a device for playing music offline, just download music to it.

Let me know if it works.

Thanks! I had two iPhones listed in my Offline Devices but not my iPod Touch. I don't and never have owned an iPhone, so I'm curious why they would have been listed. My wife owns an iPhone, but she doesn't use Spotify and has never downloaded the app to her phone or backed up her device to my computer. I removed both iPhones. Here's hoping this problem doesn't happen again.
