Airpods keep jumping to a random song

Airpods keep jumping to a random song

I just got brand new airpods for Christmas. I was listening to my country playlist on Spotify (premium) and all of a sudden it started playing the song “Rond or Trond” on repeat. I’ve never even heard of this song before and I wasn’t even near my phone lol. Again, tonight I was listening to a podcast on Spotify and I had the app just open, not pressing any button and it started playing Rond or Trond in the middle of my podcast. Update: It did it again during my podcast as i was typing this!! This has never happened when I’ve listened with my old Apple earbuds. Is the problem with the Airpods or Spotify or something else idk???

Thanks for the help,

Liz

Hey @lizlawrence18, thanks for reaching out to the Community!

I'll be happy to help you.

Could you try resetting your AirPods following these steps? If you're still having trouble, could you let me know if your Spotify skips songs without headphones in?

Let me know how this goes.

Thank you so so much for the help!

I just restarted my airpods and put on spotify to see if the song comes back on. I’ll let you know.

I also reached out to the Apple community to see if it was a problem with the Airpods.  Multiple people got back to me saying that they had the same song pop up but in the car or on speakers, so I think it might be Spotify’s problem. Someone mentioned it might be a hacker?? I have no idea.

Thanks!

Liz

It’s definitely Spotify, because my account has been doing the same thing with the same song for about two days now. I’ll start playing music and about thirty minutes in, it’ll start playing Rond or Trond. It keeps happening every half hour or so no matter what I try to do to fix it

Hey @Sheskindaboring,

Sorry to hear that! Could you try changing your password, just in case? Have you also tried a clean reinstall of the app?

I changed my password when it first started happening, but I’ll try reinstalling it too. Thanks for the help!

I have the same issue but on Samsung S6. Spotify randomly starts this 'Rond or Trond' song. Today a new one, 'Sandman and the Teletubbies', didnt have any music playing, song just started?

This is happening to me as well. No Airpods. I was listening to a song and it randomly jumped to Rond or Trond, on repeat.

I changed my password as this seems like some sort of hack.

  • I also am having this issue in addition to other random songs but also without airpods. Thus far I have forced log out of all locations, changed password and even changed my facebook password but it keeps happening. Really confused on how to help prevent this from happening.

Mine is doing the same god@mn thing wth 30 seconds into a song and it skips to this wack a$$ track. The piC of the album is even a trolling logo. wth Spotify fix this!! I’m going to have to cancel my account. Things I’ve tried- logging out and back in, deleting and re-installing the app, changing my password. This **bleep** started after listening to an episode of the Ron Burgundy podcast. Not sure if that is relevant but that’s what happened. F$ck Ron Burgundy!!

Hi, yesterday I had the same problem and I think I solved it. I've changed my password and I logged out of my Spotify account on each device that I use. Than I reinstalled Spotify on my smartphone and also I've changed my FB password for sfety. Maybe it will help you too. Good luck!
