In this newest update of Spotify, I've realized that you can no longer see what album is coming up next on your playlist. It only shows a gray box with a music note in it. I know it's a really frivolous detail but aaaaaaahh it's starting to really bother me.

That looks like a bug to me.

The next track shows album art for me.

As MattSuda mentioned, this looks more like a bug, that's why I've moved it over here in the help section.

Maybe we can figure out what's going on. For starters: does that happen with all songs or just particular ones / local tracks?

I'm using spotify on my ipad that's running ios 7.1.2

I have the same bug, iPhone 6 (4.7) on iOS 8.1 with latest version of spotify.. some songs has album art, some doesn't (when listening to saved songs)

Hey @dk2000zx 

This is a new bug that is in the new version 1.9 update.

Spotify is aware and currently looking into the problem.

Hopefully it will be fixed in the next update.
