My Question or Issue

 

Hi, the Apple Watch app has as a very bad issue, which is that it freezes for 5 seconds or more every time I wake up the screen with the app open or I manually open the app, basically making it unusable and super frustrating. I also reinstalled everything and waited for an update but nothing has changed, I have this issue since the last three updates.

 

Last version I tested is: 8.8.96.395 with Watch OS 10.2 and iOS 17.2

Sorry to see this has been going on.
Could you take a look at the troubleshooting steps suggested in this FAQ article to see if they would make a difference?
In case the issue persists after this, do let us know and we'll make sure to alert the folks backstage 🙂

Hi and thanks for the reply! 

 

As strange as it may sound, after uninstalling again the app from the iPhone (and consequently from the watch) I waited a couple of days, I rebooted the devices also a couple of times before reinstalling and now everything seems fine on the watch side with the same version installed (8.8.96.395). Computer Science is a mystery sometimes 🙂 

 

As a heavy Watch LTE user, If something strange happens I will surely update this or create a new post as I usually do.

I am also having this issue on the Apple Watch Ultra. The app is unresponsive upon opening, making it difficult to control playback or choose another podcast. I followed the troubleshooting steps for both iPhone and watch. 

Running version 8.8.96.395 on an iPhone 15 Pro.

In order to take a closer look into this, could you share a short video which captures this behavior in action? If possible, try logging in on another mobile device and pairing your watch with it to see if the issue persists there.
