Battery drain, hot phone; not fixed with updates

I've been using Spotify for years, but some months ago I noticed that my phone got really hot and the battery drained severely when listening to Spotify, even for a short time. This started after a version update. The updates since then have not fixed this issue, and I am using version 8.4.3.884. It's a brand new iPhone 7, and I've tried all the tips I could find but to no avail. Please fix the issue, especially since I am considering Premium, but not if this problem continues
