Can’t edit my playlist.

My Question or Issue

I used to be able to edit my playlist without issues, yet today when I tried to edit it today it doesn’t let me save the changes. I press edit playlist and drag the song I need to be edited to its new place but when I try to save it, the save button doesn’t work at all no matter what I did. I tried deleting the app and logging out but none of those worked. What should I do?

Hi @Lianhua,

Thanks for posting in the Spotify Community, and welcome!

Spotify is currently aware of an Ongoing Issue causing iOS users to be unable to save changes to the track order in their playlists, due to the Save button being greyed-out. This issue has already been reported to the relevant teams, who are working on a fix.

I recommend adding your +VOTE to the Ongoing Issue, as well as a comment there with the requested info (device + OS version and exact Spotify version).

Feel free to also Subscribe to the Ongoing Issue by clicking the three dots next to its title; that way, you can be sure to be informed of any relevant updates.

Hi Adam,

I am not able to edit my playlist in Spotify on iOS. My app is up to date. I have logged out and back in, but still unable to make changes. Can you please assist?

Hi @MagneticMandy,

Unfortunately, there isn’t a fix for this Ongoing Issue quite yet. In the meantime, you can try the temporary workaround described in the Ongoing Issue’s Top Answer (updating the title or description of your playlist so that the “Save” button becomes available).

I also suggest keeping your app up-to-date, since the root cause of this issue has been identified and a fix is on its way.

You don’t actually have to change the title of the playlist to activate the Save button. You only have to attempt to do, eg add a space after the title, Save should no longer be greyed out and should stay active even if you backspace to delete the added space. Move tracks around as you wish before this, then add a space or any character to activate Save, delete the space and Save should save your new order.
