My Question or Issue

Hi,

I've done a fair bit of research and am struggling to explain how this has happened other than somebody who may have had access to my account (at one time - before I reset my password) adding a song. Sounds crazy so hoping for a sensible explanation.

I tend to just shuffle my liked songs to play music which is why I picked up on the issue.

On several occasions a song that is on a playlist (but not in my liked songs playlist) came on when listening to liked songs on shuffle.

I got my historical data and it would be helpful to clarify these points:

"platform":"android", - I assume this means an Android phone or device which I do not use any longer.

"reason_start":"clickrow", - My understanding is that I need to select the song to play for this to occur. I did not select the song, it was on shuffle in my liked songs playlist (so every single song I've liked which is over 3000)

"reason_end":"endplay","shuffle":true,"skipped":true,"offline":false,"offline_timestamp":1683810664,"incognito_mode":false} - just leaving this last part here.

Should I contact Spotify directly for further investigation or is there a reasonable explanation for this?

Thanks,

Hi there @Tetchy_fish,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

We appreciate the info you sent. To begin with, we'd suggest making sure Smart shuffle is off. You can check how to do that with this info. This option adds recommendations to your playlists, so it might be the reason why you got a song that was not in the playlist.

Additionally, make sure there's nothing in your queue with this info. If none of that helps, you could Sign out everywhere from this link, to make sure your account is secure.

Let us know how that goes.
