Gapless playback / crossfade not working for local files.

The gapless playback / crossfading feature doesn't seem to work with songs in my playlist that are local (that I uploaded). It only works with native tracks via Spotify. 

For example. 

If I add from Spotify's catalogue's Jessie Ware's "110%" followed by HAIM's "Don't Save Me" ... thos songs crossfade into one another just fine. 

However if I add a local file from a mixtape for example to that same playlist, gapless playback doesn't work. It does not fade into the local file song nor fade out of it into the next song on the playlist.

This was never implemented as a feature of Spotify.
