My Question or Issue

The mobile app cannot see all echo devices on the _same_ network. Some appears, some not. The alexa based spotify works fine on the echo devices.

Hey @waces,

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community!

We'd recommend you run a clean reinstall of the app, following the steps in this Guide.

After that try connecting all your devices to another network like a mobile hotspot and check if you get the same result. This will help us understand if the issue is network related.

Keep us posted.

Reinstall performed, result is the same (device appears randomly. Sometimes all 7,sumerimes just a few).
Hotspot/different network is not in question as it's not network related (however i moved ine of my echo and my spotify client to a dedicated network, same result. Sometimes the decice reachable, sometimes not,but that's not a solution as all devices and the mobile/desktop/webplayer clients _must_ work on the same network.

Hi @waces,

Thanks for the quick response.

There shouldn’t be any limitations on how many devices you use with Connect. Try going through the following steps:

  • Make sure the Spotify version and device firmware on the speakers/TVs are up to date
  • Try restarting your router ,to see if that makes a difference
  • If possible, try if it works on a different Spotify account
  • Check if your devices are set in the right region
  • Make sure ‘Show local devices only’ is toggled OFF (try switching it on and off again)

If all of the above checks out but your Alexa speaker still isn't showing up, you may want to check out the steps at Amazon's help center or get in touch with their support team for further assistance.

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get on.

Thanks, those steps were done already (sorry, forgot to mention earlier).
The problem is not alexa related (i can start/stop spotify via the echo device using alexa and the spotify companion app).
The main problem is with the spotify client (lets focus on this one, however the issue can be reproduced on desktop client and web player as well). Its simply not find the device on the same network, same subnet. However the network is reachable for the spotify client as it see some of the devices (yes, all the devices are registered to the same account on amazon side and configured to the same account on spotify companion side)

Hey @waces

Thanks for keeping us in the loop.

Next thing you can try is whether you experience the same after logging in to a different Spotify account. If you can reproduce the issue across the desktop client and web player it might be account-related. To check this, you can borrow the login details from a friend or relative, or simply create a free test account for this purpose.

If it works as expected on another account, we suggest going through the steps in this Spotify Answer. In case not, it's a good idea to get in touch with Amazon's customer support team for more info.

Keep us posted! We'll be here if you have any questions.
