Music slows down when put into noise cancellation

Music slows down when put into noise cancellation

This just started after I got my AirPods Pro replaced. Ever time I put my AirPods Pro into noise cancellation mode or transparency mode it slows my music down for a couple seconds  then speeds up for a couple seconds trying to play where it left off. Anyone know of any fix because this only happens in Spotify. I played songs in the files app and it worked smoothly so wondering if it’s just a Spotify thing.

Hey @jackciarlo01, help's here!

That doesn't sound right. Could you try a reset of your Apple AirPods with these steps: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT209463? Also, are you having the same issue when your AirPods are connected to another device (e.g. an iPad or Mac)?

So I already reset my AirPods multiple times and still happens. I have yet to try on my Mac.

I’m experiencing the same issue with AirPod Max.  Spotify doesn’t like entering and exiting noise cancellation.  Doesn’t happen when using Apple Music.  On spotify tried clearing the cache and restarting.  No joy!

Hey everyone,

Thanks for your replies.

In order to check further, could you send us the make/model, OS version and Spotify version installed on your device? Additionally, tell us if this started after a recent update.

Lastly, let us know if this happens with local files, downloaded songs, or any song.

We'll stay tuned.

I have an iPhone 12 Pro
ios 15.4.1.

And my Spotify is on version 8.7.40.

This didn’t start after a recent update, it started when I got my AirPods Pro replaced. This issue also happens with any song on Spotify whether it’s from local files, a downloaded song, or just a search.

Hey folks,

Thank you for your responses.

The issue you're describing is indeed odd and we weren't able to reproduce it so far. We tried to replicate this behavior on AirPods Pro (A2084) on firmware version 4E71, but with no success.  All worked as expected for us.

It's a good idea to see if there aren't any pending firmware updates for your devices and if yes to run them and see if things won't change for the better. If the situation continues for you, we'd really appreciate if you can create some screen recordings and send them over to show us what excitedly happens on your ends. Screen recording has also audio recording included, so we should be able to hear the change of tempo that you're talking about, while switching on the noise cancellation mode on your AirPods. You can send a link to the recordings or attach them using the Insert Video option in the post editor.

We'll be keeping an eye out for your replies, thanks!

Are you new to the Community? Take a moment to introduce yourself!

I found it it could be because of the head tracked feature on iPhone

I am having the same exact issue.  Here are my specs:

iPhone XS on iOS 15.5

Air Pods Pro (A2084)  firmware 4E71

spotify version 8.7.42.1716

Hey @Stephenrx7, thanks for your post here!

These details are very useful in getting to the bottom of the issue. If possible, could you send over a screen recording (including audio) of the issue, like @Kiril mentioned? That might help the right folks to take a closer look.

Keep me posted! 🙂

I just tried, but unfortunately the screen recording does not capture it. Want me to try with a different device?

Hey @Stephenrx7, thanks for trying that!

Hmm, if you could try to replicate this with a different device, that'd be very helpful! 🙂 Also, could you make sure to remove any cases and disconnect any other Bluetooth-devices (such as Apple Watch) that are connected to your iPhone and see if the same thing happens?

Keep me posted!

BRO THAT FIXED IT

That fixed it bro thanks

I fixed it. I decided to delete spotify, and reinstall the app. it seemed to work because i cant hear the pitching of the music anymore. hope this helps to anyone reading.

I think its only with downloaded songs.

What fixed it? I'm having the same issues, but only noticed them for my own two songs I've got uploaded on Spotify, though that may be only because I know how they're exactly supposed to sound lol

Hey folks,

Thanks for your replies in this thread 🙂

@Ra9nos, we really appreciate you giving us this info. If you believe this is just with downloaded music, perhaps it might be worth trying a clean reinstall of the app. This process cleans any damaged cache. Once you've done that, you'll have to download again the music to listen to it offline. Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

@jakeonbreak can you try what @Hubo mentioned? Please make sure to take off any cases and unpair any Bluetooth-enabled devices from your iPhone to check if the inconvenience persists.

We'll be on the lookout for your replies.

Cheers!
