My Question or Issue

I have no issue playing music on Spotify at all except for when I try to open a new app on my phone while music is playing. For example, if I get a text message and I try to open the messages app, the music starts to skip as a scratched CD would until it stops, or when I open snapchat, Spotify will do the same. These are just two examples, but it does it with nearly every app and it's been happening for around a week now.

Hi there!

I know it sounds simple, but it's often overlooked. Could you try restarting your device? If that doesn't help, try a quick clean reinstall of the app. Just follow these steps.

If you're still having trouble, could you let me know the exact version of Spotify and the exact version of the operating system you're running?

It really bugs me that it skips whenever I multitask on my iPad, even when using low data mode. It even happens when the tracks have been downloaded. Just opening another app causes the playing track to skip, it’s a PITA! No other apps seem to mind, I mean, I can stream videos that don’t skip which you would think are bigger resource hogs than music.  Bluetooth is off, which doesn’t make a difference. If I open another app it skips. I just want to listen to skip free music. If I can’t get it working I’m going to cancel and give another streaming service a try next month.
