Thanks for the update, @Oll_15.

It is possible that it's due to the low power mode or low battery that the phone would do this automatically. In any case, we also recommend giving the app a clean reinstall if you'd like as it can help resolve different issues with the performance. You can follow the steps here.

It seems that you are experiencing a problem with the music volume on your iPhone. This could be caused by several factors, such as:

  1. The Sound Check feature in your iPhone settings automatically adjusts the volume of songs to a similar level.
  2. The Audio Effects or Equalizer settings in your Spotify app, which could lower the volume to compensate for the boosted frequencies.
  3. The Devices Lock Screen option in your Spotify app could interfere with the volume controls on your iPhone.

To fix this problem, you can try the following solutions:

  1. Go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics (on supported models) or Sounds (on other iPhone models), then turn off Sound Check.
  2. Go to Spotify app settings > Audio Effects > Equalizer, then turn it off or reduce the boost on the frequencies.
  3. Go to Spotify app settings > Devices, then untoggle Devices Lock Screen.

Hi there @Oll_15,

Thanks for reaching out. A big thank you to @Margo6617 too for the detailed reply.

I just wanted to add that you should also go to your app settings and check the audio normalization option. If it's on, turn it off, as it can sometimes cause volume fluctuations.

Hope this helps.

Hello, thank you for the suggestions, I have tried these unfortunately I still have the volume problem. I will keep trying different things, hopefully I can figure it out. Is it possible my phone lowers volume because of my battery being low? It is random soemtimes it lowers completely quiet but I can still hear but other times it only lowers a little bit, and always when I tap my screen to awake my phone

Hi @Oll_15,

Thanks for the reply. Does the issue occur only when your phone is low on batter? Does it happen with any output device/headphones used - both via Bluetooth and over cable?

Let us know how it goes.

Hello, Iโ€™ve been trying it out with my battery above 20% and when I donโ€™t have it on low power mode and so far I havenโ€™t had the volume lower on its own. It dosent do it when I use my earbuds and I donโ€™t use a speaker

when i turn on my phone 11, regardless of if i actually unlock it or not, the volume of my music playing lowers by about half. the actual volume bar doesnโ€™t change and itโ€™s only on spotify, no other apps. to fix it i need to completely close the app and re-open. someone please help if you have a solution because itโ€™s driving me crazy

Hello, I had this problem when on my iPhone, it would only happen if my battery was very low. I think the iPhone tries to save power

I am facing something similar.

The phone is on speaker mode, playing spotify, screen switched off. By tapping on the screen to wake it up, the volumes lowers, but for the reason that the speaker is switching to the one of the ear (you use for a call). Havent found a proper way to get the phone back in real speaker (not ear speaker) mode.

Anyone suggestions to it?

I am having the same problem. If itโ€™s on speaker mode and I unlock my phone it swaps to the ear speaker for calls as said above. Only way to fix it is if I close the app and re-open it. Iโ€™m on an iPhone 12 if that has something to do with it. Drives me insane. Does anyone have a fix?

I had this problem but if you use siri even for just a second the volume will go back to normal!

Same. Pretty much if I switch apps while listening to Spotify or wake my phone up volume drops at least in half. Only when not connected to Bluetooth and using iPhone speaker. Iโ€™ve tried all suggestions on this thread but nothing works.

My Question or Issue

Since I got my iPhone 15 Pro Max I have an ongoing issue. when I connect my phone with an aux cable to my car and put on music, after a while the volume goes all the way down yet the music keeps playing. I have to get out of the app and enter again but it keeps happening every single time after a while. sometimes after one song, sometimes after a couple. I would really appreciate any help you can provide.

I tried these and didnโ€™t have luck BUT I turned OFF โ€œattention aware featuresโ€ under Face ID on my phone and it seems to have worked!

My Question or Issue

This has only begun the last couple of days. When Iโ€™m playing music in the app, when I switch apps or even lock my phone and unlock it the volume will suddenly drop. The phones volume itself hasnโ€™t changed as shown by the volume bar if I press the volume buttons. If I increase the volume using the buttons it is still relatively quiet. I have to quit the app and reopen it for the playing volume to reset.

Fixed at last thankyou .

How?

iโ€™ve tried many things to solve this issue including the clean re-install, but nothing helps. i have an iphone 15 with ios 18. are there any other ways to fix this?

Hello everyone,

Thanks for adding to this thread!

We see that it's working for some of you - that's great news ๐ŸŽ‰ A few are still reporting that the issue persists, and should that be the case for you, there are some things we'd like to double-check, as they seem to have helped other users with similar issues.

So, what you can check from your end, to make sure we cover all bases, is the following:

  • Make sure your phone isn't using any power saving options or battery optimization apps.
  • That your phone is properly charged and is not on low battery mode.
  • The current Attention Aware features - try disabling them to see if that does the trick.
  • Change the audio normalization setting in the app. It's worth changing the Volume level here as well (if it's currently set to Loud, try switching it to Normal and check if the setting resets).
  • Switch on the equalizer.
  • A clean reinstall of the app to ensure you're running the latest version (if you haven't already).

Should you have tried these steps, are you're still noticing volume issues, it would be great if you could let us know the model & OS version of your device, along with the Spotify version.

Let us know how you get on!
