NEED HELP!!! Duplicate local offline files!!!

NEED HELP!!! Duplicate local offline files!!!

Hi, I'm new to this community so I'm just hoping I'm posting this at the right place!

I've just installed Spotify to my iPhone 4S running iOS 6 a couple of days ago and am starting to sync my local files. What I then notice is that there are at least duplicates, sometimes even up to four copies, of every single local file that I have made offline. Why is that, does anybody know? Many songs are in several playlists but that shouldn't make them show up multiple times when I search them, right?

An example:

I've made "The WASP [Texas Radio And The Big Beat]" by The Doors available offline in one playlists dedicated entirely to The Doors, which also makes it available offline in another playlist that I have it in. When I then search it (just by an occasion you know, to play it) FOUR copies of the exact same song shows up with the "Available Offline" green arrow on the side!

I can't seem to reach the problem, even if I delete it from the other playlists it is in I still have four copies of it. I've got entire albums by artists that aren't available on Spotify that I'm syncing and they are all getting duplicated on the phone, when I search "The WASP" on my computer only one local copy shows up! So the problem is limited to the phone, I haven't got several copies on my computer.

Any ideas and suggestions are greatly appreciated, since I guess these duplicates take up a lot of unnecessary space.

It would really be great to make 'em disappear and the whole interface would look much cleaner if I wouldn't have to deal with hundreds of duplicates when I search "Pink Floyd" on my phone ...

I have now tried re-installing Spotify and removing all my offline tracks. So I made a small experiment and found out that as soon as I sync a track that I also have a local version of or a song that exists in several playlists duplicates in the search function.

I removed all the Pink Floyd I had on my device and added just one song to an own playlist. I then synced that playlist and should have just one copy of the song, it's only in one playlist and it's the only version I have on my computer. But still, when I search Pink Floyd there are 2 copies of the song I only have one copy of! How the heck is that possible? Am I the only one who is experiencing this bug?

Thankful for any thoughts and replies!

GrahamNash, try going to Edit>Preferences>Local Files and seeing if there are any locations checked that you don't think should be checked.
