Premium User - Still no syncing of Offline Files?!

Premium User - Still no syncing of Offline Files?!

I've been a Premium user for over a year now and I still can't sync my own Local files to my iPhone ios8?

I have Spotify on same account on both, same network..

Open Spotify on iMac, open on iPhone

iPhone shows on "Devices" either connected with cable or on wifi wireless sync.

Iphone says "connected"

I drag my own mp3 into Local Files and it shows up in the Local Files Page / Playlist.

I only want to sync my Local Files Playlist (all my others are showing as usual) so i tick the Local Files.

All I get is "Pending" and have done for about 6 months?!

I have restarted, upgraded etc etc - what is wrong??

Does this actually work?

I have asked about this before on here, and emailed Spotify and still no solution? my iPhone is obviously seen and synced so why "pending"

I cannot get away from the pending banner across this Local Files (playlist) ??

I realised i'm actually paying for Spotify monthly and would love to drag in my own mp3s from time to time, as a Premium User so would ideally like to finally get this sorted

There is currently a bug with the built in local files playlist.

Here is how to fix it:

Create a new playlist and name it "Local Files"

Add all of your local files to this playlist.

Then try to sync the new playlist.

Does that work?

A bug? right this would make sense, after Spotify just kept emailing back how to do this with no other mention of a bug.

I somehow seem to now have this working :

1. I created a new playlist called OFFLINE

2. I set it to offline on my Mac and iPhone

3. i drag my own mp3's to a desktop folder that i call Spotify Offline (and set this folder in spotify preferences for it to look for it under local files)

4. I then drag a copy of the file from my Spotify Offline Desktop (folder) to my actual Spotify playlist (so the track is essentially in 2 places) and it appears in my Spotify Mac and iPhone as offline files.

This seems to work for now although its a bit sketchy and hit/miss. And Spotify themselves said its not the most reliable way of doing it, but it seems to work!

So lets hope they fix their bugs...
