Spotify Connect from Laptop

Solved!

Spotify Connect from Laptop

Hi,

I have Spotify Premium on both my laptop and iPhone. I'd like to use my laptop to change music on my iPhone (which is connected to a speaker). This mostly works fine - When I change music on my laptop, it plays on the iPhone. However, every time I switch the music, I have to click "Play Here" on a pop-up window that appears on the iPhone - Is there any way to make it play on the phone without me having to get up and confirm that I want to every time?

Thanks in advance!

Hey @egimse

Yes, there is a way!

I think you are currently using the old version of the desktop app.

Spotify is currently rolling out a new update to the app that includes Spotify Connect:

When you get the new update, all you have to do is select your iPhone from the connect list and every time you change the music it will automatically play on your iPhone:

Connect feature  simply gives you an option to choose from

1. If you want to browse the library (Continue playing)

2. Or play on this device

Thats all the options you have

For waht you need I would  suggest using Play Queue

  • As the name suggests, the Play Queue lets you build the queue of songs you want to hear as you go about your day or night. Sort of a temporary playlist.
  • If you're listening to an album, Spotify automatically queues all of its songs. But if you want to add songs:
    1. Find a song.
    2. Right-click it and select Queue.
Click Play Queue in the left side of the desktop app screen to view the queue and delete or rearrange the order of songs you've queued manually.
  •
    • Note: an album's songs are removed if you switch to a different album.
To learn about creating reusable playlists, click here.
    Listening history

Forgotten the name of a great song you heard recently? At the top of the Play Queue screen, select History to see what you've listened to in the past.

Enjoy 🙂
