Spotify freezes and crashes when loading

Spotify for iPad 1 (6.4.2) keeps crashing when I load it. It shows an old version of my playlists then hangs. I 've managed to get it to work by selecting another option (friends, what's new) and then switching back but even that work around seems to have stopped working. My guess is that an cached view is causing the problem (since it has worked once it was able to connect to the server). I don't want to delete and reinstall as I'm running iOS5 and the latest version is iO6 only.

Any suggestions?
