Tracks not transitioning - iPhone

Tracks not transitioning - iPhone

Many of my tracks frequently stop between 3 and 1 second from the end, and do not automatically play the next song in the playlist.

I have tried with and without gapless transition, and have encountered the problem with both.

Any ideas?

Hi there!

No worries, we'll help out with this.

Does this happen with local files or track from our online catalogue? Try restarting your device by holding Home + Lock for 10 seconds. If that doesn't do the trick, we'd recommend reinstalling the app following these steps

Let us know how it goes 🙂

It happens with both songs saved to offline, and with online playback.

I have also tried reinstalling and restarting my iPhone, both of which have no effect.

No worries, we still have a few tricks up our sleeves.

First, head here and remove your offline devices. After this, make sure you reinstall the app following these steps.

Let us know if this helps.

Thank you for the suggestions, however I'm afraid this did not work either.

First song I tried stopped at 2 seconds from the end.

EDIT* and the second song...

Hmm.

Can you try restarting your device by holding Home + Lock for 10 seconds?

Simple, but it often helps.

Keep us posted.

Unfortunately, I have tried that multiple times without success.

Just to confirm, does this happen with songs from our online catalogue, or with tracks that you have added from your local files?

Is it on a particular playlist?

It happens with both online and offline tracks, and on multiple playlists (including Spotify created ones). It has also started happening on my PC desktop app if that helps at all...

Can you let us know which Spotify version you're using on both devices, as well as their operating systems?

Have you tried giving it a go using a different WiFi connection?

Sure.

Operating Systems:

iPhone - iOS 9.2.1

PC -  Windows 7

Spotify:

iPhone version - 4.7.0

PC version - 1.0.20.101

Tried on two wifi networks, 4g, 3g and offline mode. Problem exists on all...

I am still being plagued by this issue. Is there no fix?

bump. I'm honestly considering switching to apple music if there isn't a fix for this. simply ridiculous that i have to manually move the playlist on after every song.

Hmm. This is something our Accounts team needs to look into. Get in touch with them via this contact form, on Twitter with the @SpotifyCares handle, or on our Facebook page.

We'll be happy to help you sort this out.
