Hi @Kraku16,

Welcome to the Spotify Community and thanks for the detailed reply!

Interesting. We're unable to reproduce this behavior on our end. Just to confirm, this doesn't occur when playing a podcast that doesn't have video, correct? Did you notice it after a recent Spotify / iOS update?

If you haven't already, I'd recommend downloading the podcast and setting Spotify in Offline mode to see if the issue would still occur.

Keep us posted on this. Cheers 🤘

Hello,
Yes, I noticed this bug only for podcasts with video and only on my new phone since the beginning. When I listen to podcast without video, issue doesn't occur.
I tested offline podcast and works properly so it isn't reproducible by using already downloaded podcast.
Best regards

Hey @Kraku16,

Thanks for your reply.

Can you name a few podcasts where you've experienced the issue so we can try to reproduce it again on our end?

Also, it'd be great if you can check if using a different account on your device makes any difference.

Keep us posted.

Hello,
Examples: "Dwie lewe ręce", "WINI Rozmawia".
I tested exactly the same steps on new non-premium account and issue is also reproducible on my device.
I figured out that changing quality level is a workaround for this issue. On video quality - "Very high" this issue is reproducible. I tested this on "High" quality and bug doesn't occur. In your reproduction steps you can try to use different apps before locking screen, maybe this makes it possible to reproduce. It seems that the problem is related to very high quality option.
Best regards

Appreciate the cooperation @Kraku16.

We tested with these specific podcasts, but couldn't reproduce the same behavior so let's continue investigating together.

If this keeps happening with a different account on your iPhone and you don't experience it with downloaded episodes, then it's worth making sure you're using a stable internet connection when you're streaming in Very high. If you've been using mobile data so far, try with Wi-Fi (you can even test with a different mobile connection shared via hotspot or another Wi-Fi connection).

Let us know if you notice any difference 🙂

Hello

I can reproduce this issue using internet bandwidth ~ 500 Mbps using cellular and Wi-Fi

Hey @Kraku16,

Thanks for your response.

We've checked again and we're still unable to reproduce this on our end. Your report has been noted, however, we can't give you an ETA on when it will be addressed. In the meantime, just make sure to keep your app up to date.

We'll be here if there's anything else.
