Ad playback despite premium account

Hi, 

I've signed up for Spotify Premium to get ad-free playback. However, I was forced to sign up for a "free trial" before my premium subscription starts. Every day, my account plays an incredibly loud ad at a random time, despite having a "premium account". 

This is an incredible annoyance, as you can imagine, and I just want ad-free playback. That's what I'm trying to pay for, but I'm being force-fed ads. 

Please help.

Thanks for the question! 

Spotify doesn't play advertisements for our Premium users but some podcasts may include ads in their content.

It's up to the podcast creators if they would like to have third-party advertising, host-read endorsements or sponsorship messages in their episodes.

If you're not getting ads in podcasts but in regular music albums and playlists, do let let us and we'll investigate further.

Hey Elena, 

Thank you for the follow up. Now that the "free month of premium" has finished, and I have paid for the premium subscription, the problem has stopped. 

The problem was definitely persistent during the first "free month of premium". I would have rather opted out of the first free month and paid straight away, rather than get an unwanted ad every day.

My Question or Issue

I've paid for a Premium Family plan but when listening to Podcasts they're getting interrupted by Ads. And not by ads that the show have created (read themselves) but by Spotify ads. During a 45 minute podcast there can be up to 3 of these ad interruptions. One at the beginning, middle and end.

I paid for Premium for a reason and this is infuriating. What was the point otherwise?
