Spotify Connect - Multiple Speakers/Devices

Solved!

Spotify Connect - Multiple Speakers/Devices

Hi,

i've a question for the community. I've spotify premium and use it with sonos. From time to time I want to listen something locally on the phone, this makes sonos stop playing. Okay, no problem.

If I upgrade to family and don't want to use different accounts, just the one I have, would it solve the problem?

thanks for your help

Okay so if you're using the same Spotify account, you can't play music on two different devices at the same time unless one of them is in offline mode.

Hi Enno,

I'm not quite sure what you mean. Do you mean you want Spotify to continue playing through sonos while you listen to something on your phone?

Exactly. Until now it stops and says „is used somewhere else“

So the question is, in Family, does this continue playing or do I need to setup a fake family member for Sonos while using my account on my phone or such.

Cheers

This should help you out: https://community.spotify.com/t5/Accounts/Playback-on-multiple-devices-at-the-same-time/td-p/196158

Basiscally, you'd need to create a fake account. But if you use one device (e.g. an iPad) to play music using sonos, and then change your phone to offline mode, you can get away with playing on two devices at the same time.

I know. Thanks.

This is “wasted time”. Downloading is not the point.

Let me ask the question again:
Let’s say me and 2 other in my household are using Spotify with family. On Sonos, to keep it easy, there is one account installed which is my personal one.

Does the music stop if one of my family members is playing music on sonos with Spotify and I do as well, because I am let’s say in office and want to listen Spotify music there?

Okay. Thank you for your help!

Whenever I don’t see why it isn’t possible. If you have a Sonos at home it is not „private“, but used by the whole family. This means, you need a fake account for the sonos now, so it won’t stop playing if the account owner is not at home and plays music somewhere else...
