Issue

I got forced logged out and I can't sign in because of the 14 days abroad thing even though Im NOT in abroad and I did not even travel I already updated my location many times.

Hey folks! Thanks for reaching out and reporting this 🙂

 

What we'd advise in this situation is to update your apps to the latest version. I remember seeing this a while back and updating was the resolution for most of the affected accounts. In case the issue remains after updating, we'd like to ask you to send us a few screenshots of what you're seeing on your end:

 

  • From your Google Play Store where the app version is visible: Open the Play Store -> search for Spotify -> scroll down to 'About this app' -> scroll down to App info; version.
  • A screenshot showing that the abovementioned app version is installed and up to date.
  • A screenshot of your app showcasing the listed app version there.

 

Once we have these, we can relay them backstage and our tech folks will investigate this for you.

Spotify non mi fa accedere al profilo perché dice che posso utilizzare il profilo all'estero solo per 14 giorni, ma io sono in Italia ora. Mi ha detto di aggiornare la posizione sul sito di Spotify ma la posizione è già impostata su Italia

It says that I need to change my position in the settings, but I can't change it because there is only Italy, and I'm in Italy so it doesn't make sense

Anche a me stesso problema da oggi, e l'errore è solo sull'app da smartphone, perchè se mi loggo su pc o via web va tutto bene

I can't log in into my account, on the app, because it says I've been abroad for more than 14 days, when I've always been in the same country, italy, since I created this account

My Question or Issue

Spotify says I've been abroad for 14 days and now I can't use Spotify. I was never abroad. I checked my account settings, put the language again, didn't work. Tried to use mobile data, didn't work. Different WiFi, didn't work. I don't have a VPN nor did I have one on in the process of creating my Spotify account. Please help. Thank you! 

The same thing just happened to me!! And now I can't log in on my account on the app, what should we do? 

I am not able to log into my account, and instead says I am abroad. My location is the USA, and I've never even left the country ever.

Hi there, and welcome to the Community!

 

That's odd. Can you pleas check if are you using a VPN or any browser extension that changes your location?


Also, some mobile carriers (especially when tethering or roaming) can route traffic through different countries.

 

I'd try restarting the router (to get a new IP) and turning off any VPNs or location-masking extensions.

 

Logging out everywhere might also help. On the account page, click “Sign out everywhere.” Then sign back in on your main device.

I just signed outlined everywhere and i changed the password and now i can't log in its showing you cannot use more than 14 days in abroad but I'm in India and i have updated it but it's not logging so look after it

Thanks for your posts here in the Community.

 

Are you guys getting an error message saying you're in a different country? If so, could you send a screenshot?

 

In the mean, make sure you're using the latest available version of the app. You can update it by following these steps. If the app is up-to-date, kindly send us a screenshot of the Google Play Store or the App Store, where we can see the Spotify version you have installed.

 

Lastly, let us know the exact make, model and OS version on the devices you're using.

Hello, so I just did check the vpn and make sure to follow the steps but it still shows the issue about the 14 days abroad thing and also I can't take a screenshot of the error message it says "cant screen capture something" probably because it's part of the sign in process.

Accesso negato in quanto l'applicazione ritiene che io sia all'estero ma in realtà non è così
