Spotify keeps freezing my phone

Thanks for posting this thread!

 

Would you mind sharing some more details so we can get a better understanding such as:

  • Did you notice when this started happening and if it was after a specific event for example?
  • Does this happen with different internet connections?
  • Do you see any error messages and how does the app freeze exactly? Does it just stop responding?

It'd be great if you could also let us know if you've tried any troubleshooting steps such as a clean reinstall for example or toggling any settings on your device.

okay so it started happening when i installed the one ui 6.1 update this
is samsung's user interface. I think this why it is glitching because I
updated my tablet as well and it did the same thing it would continue
playing music but I would not be able to exit the app or the current screen
I am on so i would need to restart my phone to use it properly and I did
reinstall clean the cache and everything. Please assist me if you can.

Does this happen after performing a specific action, like playing/skipping a song, navigating Your Library / the Home page, etc.? If you have an SD card in your phone, I'd recommend removing it > restarting your phone > reinstalling Spotify to see if the issue would still occur. 

 

Another thing you can try is disabling/enabling the notifications for Spotify in your Android settings to see if that does the trick.

 

If the issue persists, please share the version of Spotify you're running.
