Hey there,
Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community.
We're afraid there's no way to remove items from your Made for you playlists. However, in order to avoid those recommendations in the future, you can tap on the 3 dots next to the chapters and choose the "Hide this song" option. This will also prevent the chapters to play when listening to that playlist on that device.
On another note, could you send us a screenshot of the playlist where we can see the chapters? You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert image option in the post editor. Make sure not to send any private info.
Also, sending us the URI of the playlist would come in handy. We'll take a closer look.
We'll be on the lookout.
Is there a way to remove audiobook chapters from your Daylist? I'm not seeing the "hide song" option you mentioned. Or better yet, just not have audiobooks feed into Made For You playlists at all? I like listening to music AND listening to audiobooks, but adding random chapters of random books to playlists non-sequentially makes absolutely no sense and kind of ruins the listening experience. I can't listen to my Daylist at all because of this.
Hey @12123582432,
Thank you for joining the conversation.
To continue investigating this, would you mind including in your next response a screenshot of the options you have available when selecting any chapters? You can attach it by using the Insert Image option in the post editor. Also, it would be great if you could include the image previously requested by @Eni as well. This will give us a better look at the issue.
Lastly, include in your next response the make, model, and OS version of your device, along with the Spotify version you're currently running.
We'll be on the lookout.
Spotify Version: Spotify for macOS (Intel) 1.2.45.454.gc16ec9f6
I'm using Spotify on a Macbook Pro with macOS Ventura 13.6.7 (22G720). I do have the hide song function when using the Spotify app on my phone but it's not super useful when the entire playlist is random chapters of books I don't want to listen to.
Hi there @12123582432,
Thanks for the screenshots!
It looks like these audiobooks weren't uploaded as actual audiobooks, but as albums and the individual episodes - as songs. This is the reason why they were included in your daylist. You can find more information about actual audiobooks and what they look like in the app here.
In this case, you can wait for the daylist to be updated. You can see when this will happen in the playlist description when you open it (it's next to the playlist duration on the screenshot you sent). If you stayed on your daylist through the “next update at” time, it won’t refresh on its own. If you navigate away and come back, you should see an updated daylist.
Hope this clears things up.
My Daylist has still not been updated despite closing and reopening the app multiple times both on my mobile device and on my desktop. I understand the distinction you made between actual audiobooks and recordings of books that were uploaded as albums and songs but it's still not user-friendly to have Spotify-generated playlists that are just disparate chapters of random books. Hopefully, this is an issue that Spotify can fix in the long term.
