Playback issues related to the next song in the queue

We received reports that upon attempting to play a song that's been added to the queue manually (via the Add to queue option), the playback stops completely and the play buttons on the Now Playing View become greyed out, thus preventing advancing to the next track.

Hey there, folks,

 

Thanks for your patience while we looked into this issue.

 

We're happy to announce that the queue playback should now be functioning properly for everyone running app version 9.0.8 (iOS and Android) and 1.2.53.440 (desktop). If you don't see the update on your end just yet, rest assured it's coming your way in the next couple of days.

 

To ensure you're running the latest version of Spotify available, it's worth performing a clean reinstall of the app.

 

If you're still having trouble with playback or anything else, you can post a new thread in the relevant Help board here.

Thanks for posting this thread in the Community and for the shared details! This really helps with the investigation.

 

We've now reported this behavior with the play queue to the relevant team here at Spotify and they'll be taking a look into what's happening. 

 

As soon as we have any updates on the matter, we'll let you know in the thread.

My Question or Issue

My spotify will play 1 song without issues, but once that song is over it will cease playing music and show me the screen below. No matter what I do, I need to manually tell it to play the next song. I've reintsalled and the problem continued. <snip - Moderator edit> A link to my profile if its any good.

i found temporary solution for this
play one music from playlist
add the tracks, after adding those tracks, drag the tracks into playlist (do 1-by-1)

Hi,

Sorry for bothering you, but I'm having this same issue. I did a clean reinstall of the Spotify app, but that only worked temporarily. I turned my PC off for the night and now today it isn't working again. I have also tried clearing the cache, turning crossfade on and off, changing the streaming quality, logging in and out, and nothing seems to work. Am I just going to have to reinstall Spotify every time I turn on my computer now?

Just this weekend, playback had stopped after one song and will not restart, even after clearing the cache and rebooting the phone.

Hello!

When I add a song to queue and play that song spotify just stops playing and the only thing you can do to make it play is to press play on a playlist.

I have tried to follow this thread but it didn't work. I did a clean install of spotify and tried a different account but that hasn't fixed the problem.

It all works in browser but not the app.

I am on windows 10

My Question or Issue

 

On my Spotify account, I am using both the app on mobile and Mac, and the web browset. after I skip a song or a song that is playing finishes another does not play and everything stops so I manually have to press play again in the playlist or artist after any song. I have restarted my device, and the app is updated. what should I do?
