Alexa link

I’m getting an “illegal scope” message when trying to link my Spotify account to Amazon Echo dot using Alexa’s Spotify skill.

The Alexa app tries to make me authenticate my Spotify account before getting that message.

As a first step, can you please try reinstalling the Spotify app and the Amazon Alexa app?

Can you please let us know what troubleshooting steps you've tried so far? Also, please send us the model, OS version and Spotify version of the device you're trying to link the profiles on.

Just to confirm, have you tried following these specific steps to link your Alexa with your Spotify account?

If so and it still doesn't work, would you mind following the steps @MihailY sent previously?

I HAVE THE SOLUTION!!

DELETE THE SPOTIFY APP. Then go back to the Alexa app and link the account. This will take you to browser mode and allow you to link 😇

Thank you!!! That was such a frustrating issue, haha.

I actually just updated my Spotify app on my phone and didn't need to fully delete it.
