My Question or Issue

When playing something in its regular order (i.e. not shuffled), reordering or removing tracks in the "Next From: ..." queue (not the actual queue) isn't synced to other devices over spotify connect. The changes are only visible on the currently playing device.

Note: making changes on a remote devices does get synced to the playing device, but the remote device still thinks the queue is unchanged so making any further changes is relative to the original state of the queue.

The feature does work as intended when shuffle is turned on.

Thanks for getting in touch about this and welcome to the Community. 

 

Could you let us know if this happens even if all devices are connected to the same WiFi? Also, are you using any VPNs? If so, we suggest that you turn it off since it can affect the app's performance.

 

On another note, make sure that the app and all devices’ software is up-to-date.

 

If it still doesn't work, could you let us know the exact make/model, operating system and Spotify version of your devices?

Hi!

I can reproduce it even if the devices are on the same network, no VPN involved. To my knowledge, all versions are the latest.

I have tested in all directions between the following versions:

- Spotify Android 8.8.44.527

- Spotify Linux 1.2.13.661.ga588f749

- Spotify Windows 1.2.13.661.ga588f749

(i.e. the issue is reproducible with either of these being the active device and any other being the remote controlling one)

Interestingly enough though, if there's a web player involved (it's enough if the tab is open, it doesn't have to be the active or controlling device) then it works correctly in every situation I could come up with.
