How do I turn off annoying pop ups? And what does spotify consider an ad?

How do I turn off annoying pop ups? And what does spotify consider an ad?

Since Spotify have decided to massively increase the amount of spam pop ups and adverts in premium, have they added a way to turn these off? I checked the settings but I can't find anything. I already have every notification and update/news follow disabled.

I asked this question ages ago and was told no. Back then, I was getting maybe one or two pop ups a month This week I've had 8 and it's getting seriously annoying now. Judging by search results the community has made it pretty clear we don't want these pop ups.

I'm not saying stop them, if some people like annoying pop ups then great, but at least give the majority who don't an option to turn it off. My other question.. While most of the pop ups are about artists or playslists.. I've had two pop ups trying advertising referal bonuses. Considering I pay monthly to NOT have adverts and trying to se me family plan falls clearly under the definition of an advert.. Where does Spotify draw the line at what is and isn't an advert?

I'm getting fed up of these pop ups and if it carries on this way, with no way to turn them off, I'll be looking at switching service.

The last time it was updated was 10 months ago with a nonsensical reason for rejection. When are they going to re-review it?

This is happening to me as well. 2 pop ups today. Ready to cancel and move to another music service that my iPhone keeps wanting me to come back to.

The issue you linked is now blocked by Spotify, so clearly they have zero interest in listening to feedback.

In my opinion, if spotify feel like they aren't getting enough out of their premium subscribers (a lot of whom are paying specifically to avoid ads) they should put the price up. Maybe if they really think there are users who are buying premium for other features than avoiding ads then they should introduce a new tier for them.

I've used Spotify for over a decade now and the reason I've stuck with it so long is because it has been (mostly) reliable and the experience of using it has been very low in frustration. Recently I've been starting to get increasingly frustrated by choices made by Spotify management to push extra stuff like band's merch or tour tickets etc. I can imagine for some people it might be useful, but for others like myself, it's a nuisance at best. I don't mind it being on by default, but there should definitely be an option to turn it off.

Based on the approach of Spotify to this issue, I will be considering an  alternatives and it won't take much more to push me over to one such service.

The link to the "similar idea" is not working. I also wish to leave spotify if this isn't addressed. The reason I am paying is so that I don't get advertisements. If you need more money from me to achieve this, let me know, but please stop the pop ups.

I've been getting these pop up ads for a long time now, sometimes several per week (I won't paste the screenshots here since everyone on this forum, including Spotify's CS reps, knows what they look like). I've contacted Spotify by phone, and searched the forums, and the Spotify reps act perplexed as if they're completely unfamiliar with this issue. They say that it must be something on our end, with our phone, and suggest ridiculous fixes like reinstalling the app & uninstalling all other third party apps, etc., rather than just admitting that Spotify has decided to change the agreement and force ads upon premium account members (along with annual price increases). Now they're replying to posts by saying the issue is resolved.

They placate us long enough for us tire and go away quietly. I doubt enough people will complain to cause Spotify to do the right thing by removing the ads, but I'd prefer not to do business with a company who takes their customers for granted, so I will be going away quietly and cancelling my Spotify account.

The related post is not available, I will be following this and other threads expecting a resolution. This problem is getting worse. Please provide a way to disable this “feature.” It degrades the user experience. Recommended content should be suggested without friction, this is a dark pattern. Allow people who pay for the app to opt out of this behavior. I am dissatisfied; please keep in mind that broken trust will be hard to regain after folks begin switching to a different music library. My cell service provider gives me Apple Music for free and I’m noticing nice features that integrate with iOS. Spotify is on thin ice trying to further monetize paid users.

Popups seem to becoming more frequent.

Just now I actually got a pop-up about a ticket sale!

It wouldn't be half as bad if I actually knew the particular artist, but I don't! xD

I'm going to be switching to another service.
