My Question or Issue

I use to have a group for all of my devices in Spotify. It allowed me to connect to them all which were all speakers so I could listen to my music on all of them with no issues. I had all of the devices/speakers on the same network which allowed me to group them together. Now Spotify does not have my grouped devices and does not seem to let me create a group anymore. Is there a way to get this to work? Now when I click on the device/speaker it will only play out of that single speaker.
The devices range from just speakers of different brands and google home and nest.

Hey @Charlie8rown,

Thanks for reaching out!

With smart speakers it's possible to play on all of them at once provided that they can be combined into groups.
Groups depend on the speakers' settings and are not a Spotify function. With this said, there might still be a way for you to group your devices -
Check the speaker's three dots in the Connect picker to see what gets displayed. See if any grouping can be done either via the displayed options, or via the speakers' own apps.

In case you require any assistance with this, we'd suggest reaching out to your device manufacturers' support to find out how and if this is possible 🙂

Tip: If you wish to see an in-app integrated function that allows you to play on multiple Connect devices at the same time, feel free to show your support and vote for this idea here!

Hope this helps!

The speakers that I am referring to are not smart speakers and require no app to run. They are just normal Bluetooth speakers. Before I was able to add them to the same group within the Spotify app. Then I would choose that grouping of devices to play music which resulted in playing music simultaneously to all of them. So doing what you are referring to is not possible. I see all of them within the Spotify app but I can only select one of them at a time.

Hey @Charlie8rown,

Thanks for the clarification!

At Spotify, we’re often testing and launching improvements and new features. This means you might see something on the app your friend doesn’t, or get a new feature to try temporarily. Keep Spotify updated to make sure you don't miss a thing.

This was not on a friends device, this was on my own device. I was able to do this for a couple years and it just disappeared earlier this year.

I agree the feature used to be available on Spotify and for some reason they deleted it. Spotify needs to add that software feature back since it’s very frustrating to have lost the capability to group speakers.

Spotify changed something. My TV shows what music is playing in my speaker group, but doesn't play the music unless I select it individually. I used to be able to select my home group and every device would play including the TV.

I agree, this used to work from the app and from the desktop client. I had an "everywhere" group that I created in the spotify app and it used to play everywhere, now it just doesn't do anything and and I can't make a new group. I used to play on the living room tv and on my pc all the time, It just went away and stopped working. My groups are still there under devices but they don't work. This is heart breaking, it was one of Spotifys best features.
