Spotify keeps auto-playing when I skip songs instead of staying paused

My Question or Issue

When I pause my music, and skip to the next song, it starts auto-playing that song. I want the music to stay paused when I’m skipping so that I’m not hearing the first 2 seconds of a different song over and over while browsing. Is there any way to stop this? It happens on mobile, desktop, anywhere.

Thanks for reaching out.

Currently the next button autostarts a song, however we're always open to new ideas 🙂 The best way to get yours noticed and considered is if you create an idea for it in the Community by going here - that way, other users will also be able to vote for it.

In the meantime we can suggest as a workaround on Desktop to click on a song in a playlist and use the arrow keys up and down do move the selection.
