Cancelling because i can't reset my password

Cancelling because i can't reset my password

As the thread title suggests i'm currently at my wits end trying to reset my password.

 

I have checked all the relevant folders, junk etc... nothing is coming through. Also to add i haven't meddled with Facebook or any other social guff that may interfere.

 

Long story, i noticed that when playing Spotify on my phone that i would repeatedly get the message, in use somewhere else. So naturally i assumed that this would mean my account is compromised. Changed my password i'm not sure how many months ago. Same thing happening again so...

 

Hardware factory reset my phone to make sure there is no malware etc..  then realise i can't remember my password, and it definately isn't any of the numerous variations i use on my passwords. Logged onto spotify on my PC tried to change my email or password through account settings. Am unable to change without a password. Request they reset password... email never comes.

 

Change my Outlook email password, out of paranoia email has been hacked. Still no email for resetting password appears. I have tried every variation i can think of for my password, nothing works. Plus i am now locked out of spotify on my PC and phone whilst still paying the subscription.

 

I fear my only option is to cancel the subscription through PayPal and make a new account. As i have no way to access my account and cancel subscription manually. Is this a bug with the password reset system or has my account been hijacked, i dont know and tbh im sorely tempted to never use spotify again.

 

edit: Wouldn't let me post without an account so logged in using facebook, this is NOT the account in question. The account in question was created in earlier days of Spotify before 'integration' with social guff. It has a username and an email attached to it. Thats all.
