From Premium trial to Unlimited service & avoiding a credit card charge...

Solved!

From Premium trial to Unlimited service & avoiding a credit card charge...

Hey guys,

I signed up a for free Spotify Premium trial back on 12/04/13, & I was told that if I didn't remove the premium service before 01/04/14 (which btw is tomorrow) that my credit card would be charged on that date. As such I changed my premium subscription to an unlimited one (free service with ads, correct?) on 01/03/14 using the method outlined here.

However when I view my overview page, it says under subscription status:

You have got an active Spotify Premium subscription. You subscription will automatically change to Spotify Unlimited on 2014-01-04, and you will be charged $4.99 unless you cancel recurrent payments.

Why will be charged $4.99 when I already made the change to an unlimited service on 01/03/14, thus eliminating any fees to my account? Shouldn't the change be reflected immediately? How do I cancel recurring payments? In short, I don't want my credit card to be charged.

Okay, I solved this issue by canceling my premium subscription on the "manage subscriptions and payments" link and adjusting the settings on that page to just cancel the subscription, I had believe that if I had canceled the subscription that I would subsequently have my Spotify account deleted, which is clearly not the case. After poking around for a bit, I cancelled my subscription, & I ended up with this lovely message.

You are registered for Spotify Premium until 2014-01-04. After this period your account will become a Spotify Free account.

Hello!

Unfortunaly Spotify unlimited means listening to music without ads and costs $4.99. But i suggest you contact Spotify support here and they can help you. https://www.spotify.com/us/about-us/contact/contact-spotify-support/ . If you get an automated reply just reply back to speed things up.
What's a Spotify Rock Star, and how do I become one?

Check album availability here

Yep, I can confirm. Your subscription was definitely cancelled so you'll be back on the free service soon, no charges taken.
