My Question or Issue

I realised Discord doesn't show my status as "Listening to Spotify" and checked if I turned off "Show as my status" but it was on. Then I realised problem is not on my Discord. I can't use Spotify Connect on my desktop app. I can use it on browser and phone as you can see on attached image. I tried to change my password, link and unlink my account to facebook, log out from all devices, removed all approved applications, use desktop app with Spicetify, use Spotify from Windows Store but it didn't worked. I made clean reinstall for Spotify desktop like five or six times but it didn't worked as well. I think my account has duplicated or something. I don't know. I really need your help.

I solved it.
You must have "hosts", "lmhosts.sam", "networks", "protocol" and "services" file at "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc".
"C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc" was empty and i asked my friend if he can send me required files.(also attached to reply if you can't access to google drive).
He send me files and i pasted them to "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc".
It fixed I can use Spotify connect properly.
Thanks for your support.😊

Hey there @volkk

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community, and welcome 🙂

Would you mind sending over the Spotify version you're currently running?

If possible, could you ask a friend or a family member to log in to their personal account using your device to see if they can replicate this.

We'll keep an eye out for your reply.

I tried to log in to my friends account (premium) on my desktop and he said he can't show what I'm playing. I think problem is on my desktop app.

Hey @volkk,

Thanks for the reply.

Can you try to remove any entries containing Spotify from the Host files on your PC. Follow the instructions from this Solution.

Also, make sure that when you go to Settings > Advanced settings > Privacy the box is not ticked as this may hinder connectivity between different apps linked to your Spotify.

Let us know if that makes a difference.

Wow! I've been searching for a solution to my Spotify Connect problems for over a month and this solution finally solved it for me. To be more specific, I deleted the existing file contents of the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc directory on the computer I couldn't connect to the Spotify of and copied the /etc files from another (non-malfunctioning computer) and I started up Spotify and I was instantly able to connect to its Spotify from the other computer.

İs mine to same but its not worked, can someone help me please i was do that everything.
