My Question or Issue
My main account i use for spotify is the one connected to my facebook account. However since connecting spotify to my facebook back in the day, i have changed email address. I have then at some point created a spotify account using the new email address. But somehow forgotten about it.
 
Today i wanted to use the spotify api for a fun project for myself. But i couldnt sign up for an api key since i was not able to verify my old email address. I then attempted to change my email address to my new one, which of course already had an existing account.
 
I have since deleted the account from spotify, and deleted the data.
 
However i still cannot change my email address to the new email. You can see the attached photos.
 
My first thought was that the servers simply hadn't updated yet, or that some data was cached somewhere indicating that the account with my new email (that i had removed) was still laying somewhere for some time.
 
But i then went to check if any account with a different password was savinng with my email, using the forgot password function. And here it said that no account existed with this email address.
 
So... i am not sure what to do now. If there is a mistake in the way spotify checks for existing emails in the change email page, or if my email address is still located somewhere and this is just a little waiting game.

When did you close the Spotify account associated with the email address you're trying to use?

I closed the account around either yesterday or the day before, not entirely sure. But the closed account still shows as occipied when trying to change the new one to that.

After an account has been closed, it will take 14-30 days for the email address to become available for sign-up / use again.
