Spotify Free Trial

Hello, I attempted to get a spotify premium free trial, however after I input my payment method, I was charged $9.99, I was just wondering if I am supposed to be charged at first for the free trial

i started a 7 day free trial, was sent an email to extend it by 30 days, i tried to extend it and put payment details in, expecting to have a free trial for a month and then it would automatically renew. I Was unsure, so havent touched spotify since then. Next morning i call the number on the recipet and they confirm i have been charged?

Im not happy as i wanted the free trial and not expect to get charged for a FREE trial.

I have since cancelled my subscription, however i want a refund because i've been charged and the month free trial i've was assured
