My Question or Issue

I added my Facebook account to Spotify and Spotify doesn't show my Facebook friends nor able to acess the friendlist. I already disconnected then reconnected multiple times. I also turned on "Let Spotify process Facebook data".

Hello @ldtvux11!

Thanks for coming to the Spotify Community, I'll try to help you out.

If your Spotify account’s connected to Facebook but you still can’t find your friends, check on Facebook to see if your Friends list is shared with Spotify:

  1. In a web browser, go to facebook.com/settings.
  2. Go to Apps and Websites.
  3. Select Spotify.

If your Friends list is indeed shared with Spotify, I'd recommend you try logging out of Spotify then back in. Otherwise, I'd suggest you follow these steps:

  1. Remove Spotify from Apps and Websites on Facebook.
  2. Disconnect Facebook from your Spotify account and connect it again to renew access to your Facebook data.

You can learn how to disconnect Facebook here.

Hope this helps and make sure to let me know if you have any questions!

The 2nd suggestion applies for my situation but I've already done what you suggested beforehand, multiple times too. It doesn't work, unfortunately. When I check the data that Facebook allow Spotify to access, only my name and profile picture is allowed, friend list is nowhere to be seen. Same situation when I disconnected, and connected again.

Hello @ldtvux11!

Thanks for your reply. Can you try having a clean reinstall of the app to check if it makes any difference? I'd also recommend downloading it from another official source (e.g. if you have the app downloaded from the official Spotify website, you could try with the one available on the Microsoft store or vice versa) to see if it changes anything.

Also, could you send over a screenshot of what your Friend Feed currently looks like?

Keep me posted!

With the latest update, the "Connect to Facebook" opitons are no longer available on desktop and smartphone versions of Spotify. Reinstalling the app didn't help, besides Spotify only ask for my Facebook's name and profile picture as shown in the screenshots I uploaded.

Hi @ldtvux11!

Thanks for sharing your experience and feedback. Spotify is constantly testing new features and configurations to improve the app for everyone. This means that some options, like the "Connect to Facebook" feature, may appear or disappear as part of these tests.

Hope this helps!

I sign in with my fb account but I am not able to search profiles and show my friends on spotify. what can I do?

from androdi and pc it has no option to find facebook friends from here please help me

I recently signd up for spotify with my fb but i dont have the option of finding friends or any social stuff whatsoever. On fb settings, it says it's active with spotify.

When I first started using the app, I could click on the three dots in my profile and see the “Find Friends” option. I had a hard time connecting Spotify to Facebook, and then when it finally worked the Find Friends option had disappeared. I have disconnected and reconnected Facebook multiple times since then, and I’ve reinstalled the app. None of this has worked. When I connect Spotify to Facebook, it is only asking to share my name and profile photo, not my friends list. There is no option for me to add my friends list to what is being shared.

I read this artikle (https://support.spotify.com/uk/article/follow-friends/) and did all the steps but I still do not have the "find friends" icon on either the desktop app or mobile app. Also there isn't an option on facebook to share my friends list with spotify.

Things I've tried on both desktop and mobile:
Updated the app
Removed and connected facebook again, 2 times
Logged in and out of spotify multiple times

Thanks in advance!

Hi there @Michelle-m,

Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the Spotify Community!

At Spotify, we're often testing new features. This means you might occasionally see something your friend doesn’t, or get to try something new temporarily.
Your feedback on this is important, thanks for sharing it here - we appreciate it.

The Community is always here if something else comes up.

Cheers!

Ditto. There were several permissions given to spotify from when I connected it 4 years ago. Today I removed the Facebook login option on spotify and removed it from web apps on Facebook (troubleshooting another issue).  It now only requests name and picture access.  There is no longer an option to Connect to Facebook on any interface. You can only add Facebook as a login option and that only adds the name and picture permission.

I think the feature to request to connect to Facebook and request access to the user's Facebook Friends list has been removed and for some reason this fact hasn't been added to your support knowledgebase. Maybe you should bother to take the time to go beyond regurgitating the suggested answers from your knowledge add escalate this to someone in your developer group?
